This rug is made of 100-percent wool pile. The pile height is 0.15 inches. Colors include blue ivory rust gold navy and beige.Story Behind the Art:This particular rug was made in the 1960s by the village weavers in Mahal who were known to use the asymmetrical or Persian knot giving their rugs exceptional softness and flexibility. Natural vegetable dyes are used to give the rugs their rich colors. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come. The majority of the weavers are women who live in the villages of Afghanistan Pakistan Iran and India. As we grow we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs.The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color size and design.
